Fort Benning Scholarship Program

The Fort Benning Lodge Scholarship was established by donations from Br. JASON S. NORTHROP and continues to do so with additional  donations from members.

Its purpose:
To donate financial aid to gifted Columbus, Georgia students and to assist the future of our community. The Fort Benning Lodge Scholarship supports the charitable efforts of Georgia's Free and Accepted Masons. Review the scholarship requirements below. If you believe you meet the requirements complete the registration process. You will be notified by email when the application process is available. You will be contacted via email. Be sure that the email address you provide will be active during the entire Scholarship application.

You will need to pre-register (Application below) and you will be registered in or records once you have applied You will be notified each year when the application period is opened. If you do not apply for a scholarship for any year, you will not receive notifications in future years. Email addresses associated with employers or educational institutions are not recommended.

HOW AWARDED AND REQUIREMENTS

APPLICATION PROCEDURES AND PROGRAM RULES

Anyone may apply.
CLOSED FOR 2023

1. Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1500.00 for full-time students.
  A. Full-time is a minimum of 12 semester hours or 18 quarter hours.
  B. ALL HOURS MUST BE FOR CREDIT. NON-CREDIT HOURS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED (i.e. Courses for Audit)


2. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required before an application may be considered.

3. Applicants MUST be United States citizens and be residents of the state of Georgia.

4. All scholarships granted will be for undergraduate studies in accredited schools in Georgia.

5. All applications will be rated on the basis of:
   A. Demonstrated merit based on i. Transcript data ii. Extra-Curricular Activities iii. Community Service
   B. Financial Need
   C. Special conditions that might affect need (and perhaps grades), such as death, divorce, illness, financial disasters, etc.


6. Previous Scholarship Recipients are Not Eligeable to re-Apply

Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Scholarships may not be awarded even if the applicant meets all criteria. Scholarships are awarded solely at the discretion of the Foundation. All decisions of the Lodge Scholarship Committee are final.
